Bureaucrats against electric cars, and progress
IN THESE times of high petrol prices and worries about climate change, you might think that any country would be proud to enjoy a lead in manufacturing electric cars. Not Canada, it seems. Two Canadian companies, ZENN Motor Company and Dynasty Electric Car, make small electric cars designed for city use; a third, which will use new battery technology developed by Exxon Mobil, plans to launch a model later this year.
I'm so happy when I see a post on the ZENN. Sadly though just this past March Dynasty was sold to a Pakistani company that is going to move production to Karachi, but continue to import to the U.S. from there. I've been following the story of the ZENN too and encouraging people to write to our Provincial governments to allow these on our roads here before we lose more of these great companies, especially the ZENN.
