The crisis that is threatening to contaminate the global financial system has caused an odd role reversal. Amid the turmoil, many Latin American countries find themselves in healthy economic shape compared to the United States and Europe. As a result, the position of progressive governments, a majority in the region, grows stronger.
Maybe, but I think Latin America's political environment is formed by so many factors, that we can't even guess what will be the impact of financial crisis. You have to combine it with the oil price (which is going up and down and it's so important for some countries there...), with the strength of Russia, with the presidential election in the USA...
